Plants

Virtually all our plants are grown either on site, or at local nurseries. We do not sell 'soft grown' stock imported from the continent. If we don't have what you want, ask us and we can often get it for you.

Trees
We stock a wide variety of ornamental and fruit trees, normally between 5' and 8' tall depending on variety. The widest selection is available in spring and autumn, although we keep good stocks throughout the year.
  Shrubs
We are well known for the quality and variety of our shrubs. We keep a wide selection of the more popular varieties, and we also stock many unusual and difficult to find species. Most of our shrubs are in 3litre pots, but we also stock very reasonably priced specimens in 7.5litre or 10litre.
  Roses
All our roses are supplied in large 4litre or 5.5itre pots, and start at just £5.95. We stock Hybrid Teas, Floribunda, Climbers, Ramblers, Old Roses and a good selection of David Austin roses at just £8.95
  Herbaceous
Like our shrubs, we maintain a much broader range of herbaceous plants than many other centres. Early in the season we have a wide selection of healthy young plants in 1 litre pots, which are a bargain at just £2.25. As the summer progresses, we tend to move towards more mature plants in 2L pots.
  Alpines and Herbs
We try to stock unusual as well as the more common varieties of alpines. The widest range is available in spring, and most are just £1.49 / pot.
Hardy herbs are available most of the year, whereas the more tender types such as basil and coriander are stocked later in the spring.
  Bedding plants
Patio and basket plants are stocked from late March, and bedding for planting in the ground will be available from late April. We do not encourage early planting which will be killed by frosts.
Autumn bedding and plants for autumn/winter baskets are available from early September.
  Climbers
We keep a wide range of climbing plants, from clematis, through to ivy, wisteria and more unusual plants such as celastrum.
  Other plants
Spring and summer bulbs, fruit bushes, hedging plants, marginal pond plants, grasses, ferns..... All are available at Cottismore Garden Centre
